Bolnore Village Scout Group was founded in 2011. The Group serves a total of around 60 children and boasts a Beaver Colony (6-8 year olds), a Cub Pack (8-10½yr olds) and a Scout Troop (10½-14yr olds).
Our Scout Group is managed by the Group Scout Leader (GSL), Amanda Saunders. The GSL is assisted in this role by an Executive Committee (Charity Trustees) and its members. The GSL appoints the Executive Chairman and is also responsible for all aspects of Group life. The executive committee supports the group through for example fundraising, event co-ordination, and a host of other practical and administrative tasks necessary to maintain the smooth running of a Scout Group.
Each Section has a range of uniformed leaders whose job it is to plan, organise and run progressive programmes for its beavers, cubs, and scouts. The Group Scout Leader supports the section leaders and their assistants in the execution of their duties as appropriate. Sections can also have a number of Occasional Helpers and Section Assistants.
Bolnore Scout Group would not be thriving of course without its volunteers who give up their time to organise and run section meetings and events throughout the year. Bolnore Scout Group is incredibly fortunate to have an amazing team of enthusiastic, dedicated leaders and executive members who love working with young people and are immensely proud to have brought one of Britain’s most traditional and rewarding institutions to such a new community. Without this team of volunteers - around 20 in all - Bolnore Scouting simply would not be the success it is currently and or be able to thrive into the future.
